DAKOTA BODIES, INC. STANDARD BODY MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS

 Body Materials and Components:

Galvanneal (A-60) is the primary metal used in Dakota Bodies, Inc. bodies.  Galvanneal is a corrosion resistant steel which is heat treated after coating to produce a zinc-iron alloy.  Galvanneal is particularly suited for applications such as bodies because of its resistance to corrosion and the ability to be formed without impairing its paint ability or corrosion resistance.

Main Body Exterior: The main body components will be constructed of 16 gauge galvanneal.

Compartment Tops: Compartment tops will be constructed of 14 gauge hot rolled treadplate.

Doors: Doors are double panel construction.  The inner pannel is bonded to the outer panel for increased
rigidity and elimination of metal distortion due to welding.  The outer and inner panels are
  constructed of 18 gauge galvanneal.

Door Hinges: Door hinges will be rod and socket type.  The rods will be 5/16" stainless steel and the hinges
will be stainless steel.  This makes for a maintenance free and corrosion resistant hinge.

Door Latches: Door latches will be rotary type latch, which is similar to the type of latch used on car doors/

Weather-stripping: Automotive style mechanically fastened weather-stripping

Shelves: Shelves will be constructed of 18 gauge galvanized steel.  Shelves will be one piece construction
(no welds).  galvanized material is used so that shelves do not need to be finished painted.

Material Hooks: Material hooks are constructed of 3/8" round stock.

Floors: Floors will be constructed of 12 gauge treadplate conforming to ASTM A-786 specifications.

Understructure: Floor understructure will be constructed of 6" 8.2lb. channel crossmembers in the wheel wells and
6" X 1/4" flats on the fronts, backs, and side access areas.  By using flats in these areas all
compartments are open for total adjustment of comparmentation.

Primer: Two-part epoxy primer.
